Carl Himel is an insurance manager and a former officer in the
US Army. In 1983, Carl Himel graduated first in his class in the Air Defense Officer
Basic Course at Fort Bliss, Texas. He learned how to operate and work with
Short Range Air Defense equipment like the Stinger and the Vulcan before he
started working as a State Farm insurance agent. He once served in the
Louisiana National Guard. Himel cut his promising military career short because
of a cancer diagnosis that forced him to drop out after starting the US Army
Command and General Staff School.
But Carl Himel didn’t let cancer stop him from becoming, in his
words “one of the most physically fit people over 55 in the country.” And he’s
right. In 2014, Himel finished first in an NPC fitness event in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida and is currently training to break the world record for
most pull-ups completed by someone over fifty-five years old. His current
personal record is twenty-eight.
Carl Himel was athletic in his younger days, just as he is now.
He lettered in football at his high school in Lake Charles, Louisiana. After
high school, Himel attended McNeese State University, where he earned a Bachelor
of Science degree in Business Administration. He also completed twenty-one
class hours of Economics while there as well. He graduated with a 3.2 GPA
overall while working full time at a health center as an asset manager and
serving in the Louisiana National Guard. After his stint in the Army he would
work as a State Farm agent for twenty-seven years. In 2011, he moved on to
become a stock, options, and real estate trader for five years before he took a
position as a manager for a workplace insurance company called Employee Money
Solutions.
Carl Himel developed many skills as an insurance manager over the
years, including how to motivate people and find solutions for all of his
clients at their lowest moments. He has built a career protecting people from
the unexpected and today works to make sure his business clients are protected
from complicated legal issues surrounding their workers. He isn’t afraid to
take on the large, complex cases for his clients and help people no matter what
they need from Employee Money Solutions. Carl Himel is proud of his work in the
insurance industry, which includes recognition by joining the State Farm
Insurance Presidents’ Club.
